A drawing made by a Afghan girl, aged 11, in 2006. The text alongside the picture explains it all:
"Now: She lives in a refugee camp, in Peshawar, Pakistan. She says: "I want my country to be free, to go home. We have no houses of our own; we live in rented houses. We do not own land. What can we do? We are here out of necessity."
In the future: She holds the flag of Afghanistan: "When my country is free, I want to return to it."
In response to the question 'What will help you achieve your ambitions?' she replies: "Just peace and tranquillity in my country".
This drawing was on show in the War + Medicine exposition at the Wellcome Collection, Euston Square, London.
