When & where:
7am - 9am,
Thursday 9th June
On the footpath outside of Dutton's Office
199 Gympie Rd, Strathpine
What it's about?
Federal Member for Dickson & Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Peter Dutton's, disgraceful comments about 'illiterate and innumerate' refugees, shows that he is not a fit person to hold the office of Immigration Minister.
This was a deliberate attempt to whip up fear and racism to deflect criticism of the government's brutal policies that are slowly destroying hundreds of lives on Nauru and Manus Island. Policies that are forcing people to take their own lives as a way out of the hell.
His comment followed his insinuation that baby Asha's parents deliberately hurt their own child as a ruse to get to Australia with the implication that they have different values to Australian parents.
He has also attempted to blame advocates for all the trauma and despair that his own policies have created in these detention hellholes.
Join the Refugee Action Collective at this peaceful protest and help us remind passing motorists in the lead up to the election, that it's time to close the Nauru and Manus Island detention hellholes and for Dutton to go.
If you have other commitments, just join us for a short time.
